Welcome to the 53rd Annual VOS Conference!

We are so excited to be back at the Big Sky for this year’s VOS Conference. The VOS board has planned an exciting week of learning, socializing and, of course, skiing and winter activities that we trust will make this year’s conference memorable.

As always, this year’s scientific program will consist of abstracts submitted by attendees, as well as “State of the Industry” presentations from our Platinum and Gold Level sponsors.

This year's Jacques Jenny Lecturer (sponsored by Movora) is Rachel Frank, MD, Orthopaedic Surgeon and Sports Medicine Specialist. Director, Joint Preservation Program and Associate Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery, University of Colorado School of Medicine. U.S. Soccer Network Physician. Denver and Boulder, Colorado. Dr. Rachel Frank is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist who focuses on the surgical and non-surgical management of knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries. Dr. Rachel Frank is a board-certified orthopaedic surgeon and sports medicine specialist who focuses on the surgical and non-surgical management of knee, shoulder, and elbow injuries. Dr. Frank has specialized training and technical expertise in the areas of advanced knee and shoulder arthroscopy, ligament reconstruction, cartilage/meniscus restoration surgery, shoulder instability surgery, and biologic treatments for musculoskeletal pathology. Dr. Frank earned her undergraduate degree at the University of Illinois while playing 4 years of Division I Soccer, and her medical degree (MD) at Northwestern University’s Feinberg School of Medicine. She then completed her Orthopaedic Surgery Residency at the renowned Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois as well as a Sports Medicine and Shoulder Fellowship at Rush University Medical Center, where she assisted in taking care of the Chicago Bulls, Chicago White Sox, and Chicago Fire Soccer Club.

Currently, Dr. Frank serves as an Associate Professor in Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Colorado School of Medicine, is Director of the Joint Preservation Program at the University of Colorado, is head orthopaedic surgeon for the Colorado Rapids professional soccer team, and is a network team physician for US Soccer. Dr. Frank has authored or co-authored over 300 peer-reviewed journal articles, over 50 book chapters, and presents her research both nationally and internationally at orthopaedic meetings every year. In addition, Dr. Frank currently serves as Editor-In-Chief of the Journal of Cartilage and Joint Preservation (JCJP), the official journal of the ICRS.

She will be speaking Sunday through Tuesday nights at 6:00PM.

As previously mentioned, This year's conference will feature several different social events throughout the week. These include:

  • Registration/Welcome Reception (Sponsored by veritas)

    • Join us Saturday from 6:00PM-8:00PM at the Upper Atrium for hors d'oeuvres, wine & beer. Pick up your registration packet then take a few moments to mingle with your VOS family!

  • Exhibitors' Showcase

    • Show some love to our VOS Sponsors and Exhibitors! The Exhibitors' Showcase is Sunday afternoon from 6:30PM-8:30PM (immediately following the JJ lecture) in the exhibit hall areas (Missouri Ballroom, Lower Atrium and Lake/Canyon room). Heavy hors d'oeuvres, wine, beer, and spirits will be available.

  • Past Presidents' Breakfast

    • Allow the VOS Past Presidents to serve you! Join us Monday morning at 6:45AM for an enhanced (i.e. hot) breakfast before the first session of the day kicks off. Breakfast will be served in the exhibit areas.

  • Frank Rapp Memorial Ski Race & VOS Picnic

    • The ski race, sponsored by Movora, will take place beginning at 10:00AM at the TBD. Sign up at the registration area if you would like to participate.

    • The VOS Picnic will take place in the Talus Room at 12:00PM. Tickets must be pre-purchased for this event. If you need to purchase a ticket, please stop by the registration area.

  • Poster Session & Foundation Night featuring Silent Auction & Kid’s Party (Sponsored by Contura Vet)

    • The poster session will take place from 7:00PM-8:30PM in Upper Atrium.

    • Our Foundation Night entertainment will be Magician Scotty Wiese. He will be doing strolling magic from 7:30PM-8:30PM, and his stage show will take place in Peak 17 beginning at 8:45PM.

    • The VOS Kid’s Party will take place in Summit Gallery Peaks 11-12.

  • VOS Awards Banquet

    • Join us Thursday evening beginning at 6:30PM in Breckenridge Ballroom as we celebrate the accomplishments of the VOS family. Stop by the registration area to select your table for seating or if you need to purchase guest tickets for the banquet.
